California Bay-Delta Authority Director to speak On science and Delta management issues

Who: Joe Grindstaff, Deputy Secretary for Water Policy, Resources Agency, and Director, CALFED Bay-Delta Program.

What: He will deliver the luncheon keynote address at a workshop on expanding and improving the U.S. Geological Survey's Cooperative Water Program. The program provides scientific and technical assistance to California's local, state and Federal water managers.

When: The luncheon begins at noon, Monday, May 7, 2007. Mr. Grindstaff's talk is expected to start about 12:30 p.m. It is open to the news media.

Where: The Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1209 L Street, next to Capitol Park in Sacramento.

Why it is newsworthy: Grindstaff will discuss the art of science in policymaking for the California Bay-Delta estuary and other California water issues.
