LOCATION.-Lat 33°37'52", long 116°23'29", in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.19, T.6 S., R.6 E., Riverside County, Hydrologic Unit 18100200, on left bank 500 ft downstream from unnamed tributary and 6.3 mi south of Palm Desert.
DRAINAGE AREA.-30.6 mi2.
PERIOD OF RECORD.-May 1962 to current year.
GAGE.-Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,440 ft above sea level, from topographic map.
REMARKS.-Records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. No regulation or diversion upstream from station. See schematic diagram of Salton Sea Basin.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.-Maximum discharge, 7,100 ft3/s, Sept. 10, 1976, gage height, 7.84 ft inside, 11.5 ft from floodmarks, from rating curve extended above 40 ft3/s on basis of slope-area measurement at gage heights 2.68, 5.15, and 7.84 ft; maximum gage height, 10.27 ft, Aug. 14, 1984; no flow for many days most years.
EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR.-Peak discharges greater than base discharge of 20 ft3/s, or maximum, from rating curve extended above 52 ft3/s on basis of slope-area measurement at gage heights 5.15 and 10.27 ft:
